I’m Arthur. Agile coach at aFrogleap. Today I will discuss the process, which we use to answer key business questions in 5 days time. By means of prototyping and testing ideas with real end-users. The process comes from Google Ventures. It’s what they call the greatest hits of strategy, innovation, and behavioral sciences. Broadly it looks like this: We block 5 days to work focused with the team. Every day has its own theme. With the goal, at the end of the 5 days, to be able to test a clickable prototype with 5 end-users. On the first day, map, we want to get a shared understanding of the problem. Based on that, we set a goal for the sprint week. We do this by making a long-term goal, formulating questions and making the problem visual. On the second day, sketch, we focus on the solutions, individually. We will look at existing ideas, combine and improve them by making sketches on paper. On day 3, decide, we choose the best solutions out of all the sketches that we made the previous day. We will create a storyboard, which we will use as a step-by-step plan for the prototype. The 4th day is fully dedicated to the prototype. We convert the storyboard to a realistic clickable prototype. At the same time, we write the interview scripts for the next day. This includes small assignments, which the users will have to carry out. On the last day, test, we will do 5 one-on-one interviews using the prototype. The rest of the team can follow the interviews in a separate room. At the end of the day, we know whether our assumptions were correct. In one week time, we have gone from idea to validated learning without having to actually build the product yet.
